NAB (Booth #C2627), LAS VEGAS (April 8, 2013) — Shure has announced the availability of a newly updated and enhanced educational publication for videographers and filmmakers, The Audio Systems Guide for Video and Film Production.
This publication discusses how to properly select and use microphones, wireless systems and other audio gear for optimal integration with video equipment. Topics covered include microphone types and characteristics; wireless components and frequency selection; audio mixers, interfaces, and recorders; guidelines for common applications; troubleshooting; and pre-shoot checklists.
“While technology changes each and every year, there is one constant: the audio is just as important as the visual,” said Terri Hartman, Shure’s Director of Marketing Communications for The Americas. “No matter how creative and well-executed the visual aspects of a production can be, the viewer’s experience can be utterly ruined by lackluster audio. This booklet’s goal is to provide a general knowledge of audio tools, practical advice, and helpful tips—all with the express purpose of ensuring the highest quality audio possible.”
Shure is pleased to offer the audio industry a comprehensive educational publication library. All publications are free of charge, and the library currently consists of seventeen titles, ranging from Microphone Techniques for Music to The Shure Audio Guide for Houses of Worship. Printed versions are available for select titles and all offerings are available for download.
In addition, a complementary three-part video series has also been launched. The three installments are:
