Mitek Adds ETA Systems to Electronics and Communications Group

Mitek Electronics and Communications Group Increases Power Management Focus with Acquisition of ETA Systems

Mitek announces a definitive agreement with PowerVar of Waukegan, Illinois to acquire all assets of ETA Systems, including all trademarks and inventory, for an undisclosed amount.  ETA offers an extensive line of rack mounted and stand-alone power protection, power management, and uninterruptible power products designed to protect the ultra-sensitive digital electronic equipment used in audio and video applications. Many ETA models feature sophisticated microprocessor technology to regulate AC power, sequence power turn-on, and provide backup power in the event of a power outage. The acquisition of ETA Systems and the technology that came with it will enhance both ETA customers and the Mitek Electronics and Communications Group which includes Atlas Sound, Atlas Power, and IED among other commercial and consumer brands.

This agreement will perpetuate ETA’s long standing reputation for integrity of design and customer service quality. ETA Systems will remain as an industry leading recognized brand name for uninterrupted power supplies, power filtration, power distribution, and integrated power systems shipped in complete rack solutions. ETA customers will benefit from Mitek’s enhanced supply chain dynamics, better customer service, and quicker deliveries from the Mitek Communications fulfillment center in Ennis, TX.

Loyd Ivey, President and CEO of Mitek, states, “This acquisition, along with IED and Atlas Sound product line-ups, makes Mitek Electronics and Communications Group a seamless provider and a one-stop shop to our customers for power, sound, and digital signal products. ETA is a strong, globally recognized brand and we are sure with the engineering and manufacturing of Mitek behind it, ETA will grow and continue to be a strong player.”

George Lannert, President and CEO of PowerVar states, ”This transaction will let PowerVar focus on its core medical and industrial markets and allow the ETA brand to benefit from Mitek’s experience and presence in the A/V marketplace.”

This is yet another acquisition by the Mitek Electronics and Communications Group, which manufactures communications products for the commercial, broadcast, industrial, and institutional markets.
